Rounding the curve where Date Street merges onto Main, one gets their first glimpse of the Geronimo Springs Museum, and may be curious about the various pieces that are displayed out front. Machinery used at the Elephant Butte Dam construction site, a Mormon cart, an horno, and a totem pole are just a few of the interesting objects that reside outside the museum.
Recently, Herman and Sugar Armijo donated a number of pieces of farm equipment which had been used by their grandparents Eddie and Bonnie Armijo of the Palomas area. Among these was a hay baler, or as some say, a press. These photos show the process of moving the baler into place, and the finished arrangement.
