Sullivan Family display at Geronimo Springs Museum

Sullivan Family display

The long and rich Hispanic culture of Sierra County and the surrounding area is celebrated throughout the museum.

The Catholic Church played a major role in the lives of these early settlers. Museum volunteers are currently working on a brochure to provide further insight and identification of the early missions in Sierra County.

In 2012, as part of the New Mexico Centennial Celebration, special events were held honoring the Sullivan and Torres families. Displays including timelines, documents, and photographs were installed at the museum, where they remain, and gatherings with oral discussions were held to add to the festivities.

More such family occasions are planned for the future.
